Saint Mary School is participating in Doodle 4 Google, a national competition for students to redesign the Google logo based on a common theme.
This year's theme is "If I Could Travel in Time, I'd visit . . ."
All students in Grades K-8 are invited to participate. Let the theme guide you, use your imagination and have fun!
Design Guidelines
- The doodle MUST be presented on page 2 of the entry form.
- The winning doodle will be displayed on Google's U.S. homepage, so the Google logo should be clearly visible and recognizable.
- The doodle can be in pencil, crayons, felt tip, or paint, or can be done using computer drawing or design software.
- Google cannot accept entries which use additional materials to create 3D effects.
Judging, Deadlines, and Prizes
Google has divided the competition into five age groups for judgment. The groups that apply to our school are Grades K-3, Grades 4-5, Grades 6-7, and Grades 8-9. We will submit all doodles directly to Google. Each student may submit one entry.
The national winner will receive a $30,000 college scholarship and the opportunity to have their design featured on Google's US homepage for 24 hours. The winning school will also receive $50,000 for a new computer lab. Students whose artwork is selected as a state finalist (250 total nationwide) will receive an award certificate and have their artwork displayed on the Doodle 4 Google website. Top entries will also be displayed on the St. Mary School website.
All entries must be submitted with a completed entry form to the school office by Thursday, March 10, 2011.
